HELLO HOLLY – the podcast about interior, trends and friends

In the second season of HELLO HOLLY, Holly has decided to take a more personal approach. Instead of interviews with lots of voices and guests from many design disciples and backgrounds, she has decided to hone in on the topic in which we are all unanimously so passionate about improving: OUR HOME. In Season 2, 8 decorating topics that range organization to decorating on budget and how to find your style will be covered. She'll add 4 bonus podcasts to this season where she'll bring an expert guest on her show to teach you something in a very targeted area, like plant care and selection. We can’t wait to see what you think about Season 2 because we're so happy to experiment with the new format. Please subscribe HELLO HOLLY and tell all of your friends if you find the podcast as inspiring and helpful as we hope. If you have a decorating question that you’d like for Holly to answer in this season, please write to Holly personally at: [email protected] or [email protected] and she’ll try to answer you by name in an upcoming podcast. Holly believes this is what most of our parents and grandparents did right, home always felt like home. There was a specific vibe when Holly entered her house growing up, or her grandparents farm house. Was it the same for you, too?

How To Find Your Decorating Style

How would you define your decorating style in one sentence? Do you feel like your home looks and feels exactly as you’d like it to, or that it’s not currently a reflection of your style at all? Maybe it’s time to dig a little into this topic (and your brain!) to see what you can learn by asking yourself a few questions, then exploring the answers together with me. In today’s episode of HELLO HOLLY, which happens to be the first episode of season 2 where I’ll host 8 podcasts alone and 4 with expert guests, I’ll speak about How To Find Your Decorating Style. In this episode, I’ll give you some solid tips that I’ve collected the past 15 years working as an interior stylist and author. I’ve interviewed and been inside the homes of hundreds of people with style, so my tips today are taken from the time I’ve spent traveling and writing about great spaces. If you have your own tips on how you personally found your decorating style, share them on Instagram Stories and tag me @decor8 and @hollymagazin so I can reshare your tips with my audience. I’d love to get a conversation started on this topic because I’m certain you have tips and ideas of your own. Peter Fehrentz, one of Germany's most talented visionaries on interior and inspiration

Peter Fehrentz (https://www.peterfehrentz.de) is one of Germany’s most talented visionaries when it comes to interiors. Yet, he’s a gentle giant in his field, a bit of a behind-the-scenes genius, his work is all around but you may not recognize his face if you pass him on the street. Peter isn’t obsessed with fame or becoming a face, he is actually obsessed with beauty, harmony and in creating interior “worlds”. In my eyes, he’s a real powerhouse of creativity as a multidisciplinary designer for over 20 years. He designs residential and commercial spaces, concepts for catalogs, and produces regular features in Germany’s #1 interiors magazine, Schöner Wohnen. He also designs furniture for brands like Luiz, MORE and Grüne Erde, and recently launched his own ecological clay-based paint brand called Nen.do. Peter also photographs his own stories and work for clients, and he is the Author of, “Made By Yourself”.

In this podcast, Peter talks about his work and life, what he has learned along the way, how he dives into a project, what drives him and where he finds inspiration – including his most recently one-month long trip to Japan with his Fashion Designer husband, Dirk. Peter is a lot of things to me - kind, talented, balanced, intelligent and a fantastic source of inspiration which is why I’m so happy to share our conversation in this podcast.

Stefan Nilsson on how he became one of the leading trend hunters in Europe

Stefan Nilsson, most commonly referred to as “trend stefan”, is Sweden’s best-known trend hunter and regularly contributes to TV, radio and magazines. Married to his partner Peter and living in Stockholm, he travels the world in search of interiors trends from China to Brazil, Poland to France and so generously documents his finds online at trendstefan.se since 2006, along with his Instagram account which he started recently. Stefan is sought-after by major fairs and agencies to lecture on trends all over the world, his most recent two being in Brazil and Malmo. His lectures are my personal favorite, I could listen to his speak for hours because he’s witty, knowledgeable and full of energy on all of the many topics that he covers. Stefan has a YouTube channel and also presents his trends on television and radio in Sweden. His popularity in Europe has grown significantly over the years; in fact, he is the only trend hunter in Europe who attends so many fairs and offers full coverage of them all through his social channels, and he’s the only person that brands instantly recognize as being “the” trend hunter in Europe - his bright red hair and warm smile are hard to miss as he scours fairs and design events to see what’s the latest and to predict what’s next. In addition to hunting for trends, Stefan also designs products for brands – his most recently being a playful, decorative Christmas collection for Cult Design Sweden.

In this podcast, Stefan speaks about how he got started, trends he sees at the moment, how he feels that soon no one will be shopping anymore (and why), what he looks for at fairs, how he goes about finding trends, and so much more. This podcast is fantastic for anyone who wants to better understand how a trend hunter works and what are some things you can expect to see in the months ahead in the world of interiors.
